Resumo

Winnicott evoluindo e continuando. Um exame das teorias implícitas de Winnicott sobre pensamento e influência Após a morte de um pensador e escritor tão prolífico como D. W. Winnicott, que não participou de nenhuma escola psicanalítica e que recusou qualquer prosseguimento formal de seu próprio pensamento, é válido questionar se esse pensamento morreu com ele, ou se se encontra presente de forma discernível nas reflexões de outros autores (e de que maneira). Esse paper destaca as perguntas formuladas e o método utilizado em um estudo no qual me debrucei sobre a evolução do pensamento de Winnicott durante sua vida e após sua morte, por duas gerações de sua família analítica. Discute os “elementos facilitadores” identificados no pensamento de Winnicott e explora as implicações de tais traços.

Margaret Boyle Spelman, Psicanalista, Mestre em Psicologia pela Universidade de Dublin e Phd pelo Centro de Psicanálise da Universidade de Essex. Diretora do Centro de terapia de Castleknock, Irlanda.

Author of two volumes on the subject of D. W.Winnicott: Winnicott’s Babies and Winnicott’s Patients: Psychoanalysis as transitional space (2013) and The Evolution of Winnicott’s Thinking: Examining the Growth of Psychoanalytic Thought over Three Generations (2013) both published by Karnac Books. She has recently edited The Winnicott Tradition (2014) in a series for Karnac on psychoanalytic giants with Prof. Frances ThomsonSalo. She is a registered clinical psychologist, psychoanalytic psychotherapist, and organisational psychologist working for three decades in the Irish Health Services, is in private practice since 1998 and lectures at University College Dublin,Trinity College Dublin and IIPP. Member of the European Association for Psychotherapy and has held executive positions in The Psychological Society of Ireland, The Irish Institute of Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy, The Irish Forum for Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy, and The Irish Council for Psychotherapy. She has Masters degrees in psychology from the three Dublin Universities and her PhD was completed at the Centre for Psychoanalysis, University of Essex.
