Abstract

Do we effectively need a national identity? Would it not be possible for us to overcome the very concept of identity? Through the analysis of certain aspects of Nietzschean philosophy, articulated with its assimilation by the Anthropophagic Movement of 1928 – and looking at Brazilian popular music as a case study –, this article aims to demonstrate the insufficiency of any operators based in circumscriptive delimitations (such as “identity”), the necessity of developing ourselves beyond them, such as drafts for a cultural movement which could unfold in a way radically informed of this, and to which there would be no de facto separation between here and there.
