This article presents a commented translation of Carl Müller-Braunschweig's (1881–1958) lecture on the relations between psychoanalysis and philosophy, delivered at the 5th International Congress of Philosophy in Naples (1924). The paper contextualizes the author’s work and trajectory, discusses the main arguments of the lecture, and highlights his pioneering contribution to the philosophical reception of psychoanalysis. Topics such as psychoanalytic determinism, the problem of freedom, and the possibility of a psychoanalytic investigation of philosophical thought are addressed.Downloads
