Abstract

This article has a dual objective: on the one hand, it aims to indicate the expertise of Freudian argumentation in the Introductory Lectures on Psychoanalysis and, on the other, it presents a commentary on the text of each author published in the dossier commemorating the 100th anniversary of the lectures' publication. Originally delivered in the winter of 1916 and 1917, the lectures aimed to introduce psychoanalysis to an audience of physicians and laypeople, forming part of Freud's strategy for the dissemination of psychoanalysis. Given the importance of the Introductory Lectures on Psychoanalysis for the transmission of psychoanalytic knowledge, the Journal Natureza Humana presents a dossier commemorating the 100th anniversary of their publication.
