Abstract

The review presents the work Memory, Forgetting and Desire, which includes three chapters that go through the writings of Freud, Nietzsche and Augustine of Hippo. The first author examines remembering and forgetting, the second the power of forgetting, and the third the will, desire and memory. As a result, the author concludes that the themes of memory, forgetting and desire, although not in a structural, intentional or even programmatic way, are present in different authors throughout the history of human thought
