This article discusses, in light of the psychoanalysis, the emotional development in a perspective that values the environment-baby relationship in order to support the development of the human psyche. In this sense, we try to answer the following questions: How is the baby's psyche formed? What psychic changes would have occurred to themother's or her substitute's psyche in a sufficiently good motherhood? Therefore, we apply the concept of sufficiently good mother, from the Winnicottian theory, emphasizing the environment as a propellant so that the baby can get the being to be continued. We also go through the concepts of primary maternal concern, maternal function, primitive emotional development, and transitional object.Downloads
