Abstract

In this article we analyze how the categories of glory and spectacle are fundamental in the construction of refugees as homines sacri and the threat to their human rights. Firstly, we deal with the concept of glory, in Giorgio Agamben, based on political theology. Next, we examine the category of spectacle, in Guy Debord. Next, we discuss in what aspects this scenario configures the foundations of the politics of our time, within mass liberal democracies, helping to install and maintain the state of exception, outlining the idea of ??the migrant and the refugee as lives that can be killed without incurring into crime, weakening their human rights.
