Childhood retreat and aggressiveness: how to protect yourself from the threat family?

Abstract

The influence of environment on the child's symptomatology should be considered in the context of psychological care in clinical school. The ideas of Winnicott about emotional development are of extreme importance in understanding the child and family dynamics. It presents a clinical case of a boy of 10 years old, attended in a public university to his aggressiveness, sadness and withdrawal since the death of his grandfather. There were ten sessions: three interviews, two playful, one family, and one for application ofStory-Drawing Procedure, three for fed back. It was noticed a dynamic family conflict: child did not have confidence in the environment, he felt alone, retracting to protect against the threat of the environment, with lack in the expression of creativity and his style to be personal. By means of the psychological therapy will be provided affective care to assist the child in continuing his emotional development.
