Freud and Schopenhauer: discussion about the originality in the construction of psychoanalisys

Abstract

This work intent to study the influence of Schopenhauer's philosophy on the Freud's psychoanalysis. We don't know deeply, at the present moment, every philosophical influence on Freud, to the development of his theory. Thus, it is important the realization of studies about every one of the philosopher read by Freud and their contribution to the Freud's psychoanalysis. This research investigates the contribution of Schopenhauer's philosophy on the discovery of repression mechanism.
