This paper intends to expose some elements for a reflectionabout current human being constitution, employing Freud'sidentification concept and a critical analysis of this concept done by authors of The Critical Theory of Frankfurt University, specifically Adorno, Horkheimer and Marcuse. Ir presents factors that point the mass media as a subject ideal substitute, contributing to the destruction of the individual autonomy, Ir intends to show that changes at identification process occur in parallel to the increase at repression imposed to the person. At last, it exposes some aspects related to the manipulated use of identity, to promote a personal regression and to add the individual as mass, what the Critical Theory authors also associare to the concept of mimesis.Downloads
