In this article largue that depression is the clinical fact that led Winnicott to ponder the need of change in the etiology of psychic disturbances, thus bringing about a displacement of the psychoanalytical paradigm of neuroses - as proposed by Freud - to psychosis. I also argue that the technical and clinical contribution brought by this author in psychoanalytic theory can be understood as progress for the area - an idea proposed and defended by Loparic - butrhat such new developments can only be appreciated in their entirety by approximating winnicottian theses wirh Martin Heidegger's fundamental ontology.Downloads
