The purpose of this paper is to present the way Nietzsche conceives pain and suffering. In a first moment we may to show that his critic of Schopenhauer and Wagner, characterized by him as romantic figures, has inherent relation with the incorporation of ascetic elements in their works, by way of, at the same time they recognize pain an suffering, they denied sense to life precisely because that recognition; In a second moment, we present Nietzsche’s interpretation of Oedipus and Prometheus because in this figures occurs an affirmative incorporation of pain and suffering without ascetic concessions; And finally, we sustain that with the topic “Death of God” occurs the intensification of Nietzsche tragic thought, insofar the tragic thought supplant any possibility of foundation, either for the thought, or to the life.Downloads
