Abstract

n this essay I expound the dynamics of the origin of time and its main features according to Heidegger. Heidegger does not deny that time allows the transition between being and non-being, nor that it shows movement, nor that it is a pre-parts whole, nor that it is a pre-conceptual way of organizing experience. Firstly, however, time is a stretch that requires an extreme point of reference. A distance or distension originally belongs to time, which only makes sense for Dasein. In the second part of the essay, I discuss Heideggerian sentences on the Pauline text and on the poetry of Hölderlin. Both faith and poetry, each in its own way, point to a primal distension in the genesis of temporality, from a point of reference or extreme event, be it the messianic parousia, or the flight of the old gods and the arrival of the next gods.
