Paradigms in psychoanalysis: a proposal

The author discusses some current conceptions of paradigms in Psychoanalysis. His proposal, following Greenberg and Mitchell's suggestion, consists in locate thern ar a very high level of abstracrion, namely the basic mecapsychologic assumptions concerning the "building blocks" of psychic life. In this perspective, three paradigms stand clearly out: the drive paradigm, the relational paradigm and the subject paradigm.Downloads
