Abstract

I intend to test how far the ethical speech of psychoanalysis can help us to think about the ethical problems of our contemporaneity. I start from the analogy established by Freud between individual and cultural superego. According to many interpreters, the classic superego repressor function would be syntonized with the modern society of production. Stimulated by Freud itself to go further on his analyses trying to "discover the role played by the superego on cultural development phenomenon", we ask if with the transition to our consumption's society we can talk about "another" superego with new moral exigencies, new ways of punishment, and new malaise. In this case, what "our God Logos", the God that is shared by psychoanalysis, philosóphy and science, can promise us? Key-words: psychoanalysis; ethics; super-ego; contemporaneity.
