Abstract

Philosophical references in Lacan are abundant, even considering that they usually consist in isolated philosophems, used out of context and to illustrate specific themes of his psychoanalytic elaborations. At the same time, in his explicit statements on the relation between philosophy and psychoanalysis, Lacan oscillates between an approach between both (towards an identification) and an effort of demarcation (to the point of a global disqualification of philosophy). In this work, 1will reflect on the extremes of both Lacan's philosophical and antiphilosophical attitudes, trying to reach another perspective in order to consider his relations with philosophy and, in a wider sense, the style of his theoretical production and the role played by the great variety of references that he uses to characterize the psychoanalytic field.  Key-words: Lacan; psychoanalysis; philosophy; Plato; Hegel; metaphor.
