Faith perspective and experience of reality
Abstract
This work deals with some points of possible contact between the contributions of Winnicott and the thought of Merleau-Ponty, having as its goal a discussion of the enigma of perceptive faith and the problem of experience of the "reality" of the world. Beginning with the philosophical question: "what permits us to affirm that the world is that which we see?", the author points out how Winnicott, from the perspective of psychoanalysis - and clinical experience with borderline patients - states that relations with reality cannot be taken as natural. After a careful examination of the terms faith, "belief in…", perception, conception and hallucination, the reflection directs itself to a key concept in the thought of Winnecott - illusion. The author proposes, then, an approach in parallel with the Freudian model of primitive hallucinatory wish realization with the theoretical "first suckle" of Winnicott, and concludes with the hypothesis of illusion as the food of self. Keywords: Faith, Perception, Reality, Hallucination, Conception, Illusion.Downloads
