The author studies the testimony of William Styron in his book Darkness Visible. The crisis endured by the writer, is interpreted as a regressive phenomenon, with intense annihilation anxiety which leads him to the brink of suicide. His recuperation is understood as being made possible by the holding experienced through hospital internment.Downloads
