The theme of this article is the genesis and evolution of the concept of persona during the Middle Ages. Modern philosophical and legal tradition identifies the person with the human being or with self-consciousness. We intend to demonstrate that the concept of person has a theological genesis in Greek Christianity, showing how this concept became philosophical and how some medieval philosophers developed the idea, especially Boethius and Thomas Aquinas.Downloads
