Abstract

This article seeks to analyze the diverse uses of the term and concept of paradigm for the study of psychoanalysis. After clarifying the meaning and characteristics of this concept, such as proposed by Thomas S. Kuhn, the research analyzes how diverse authors, psychoanalysts and philosophers, utilize the Kuhnian term with more or less rigor. It is considered that the notions of paradigm, lexicon, incommensurability, crisis, and revolution, can serve so that communication and dialogue enter the diverse theoretical perspectives of psychoanalysis, at a moment when diverse authors are in agreement in recognizing that there is a crisis of communicability and development in psychoanalysis. Keywords: Paradigm; Psychoanalysis; Crisis; Epistemology; Revolution.
