Abstract

Because we believe that dual constitution of the human species (social and biological) can no longer be neglected by the fetishization of one of its aspects, we plan to achieve an initial effort for rapprochement between the ideas produced by psychoanalysis and the neurosciences. As object of theoretical research, we selected the concept of Ego in Freud's work and of Self in Damasio's theory for a comparative study, according to the resonances that they have, particularly with regard to the place of the body in its constitution. We are certain that the echoes and the discrepancies found may serve as inspiration for the enrichment of both theoretical research fields, saved their specificities epistemological. Key-words: ego, self, Psychoanalysis, neurosciences.
