The aggressive child and the father

Abstract

Winnicott's theory about the human maturation process allows to identifyspecific responsibilities in fulfilling the parental roleduring this process, according to the different periods of the individual's dependence on the environment. From this point of view, this paper presents an analysis of the quality of paternal presence in the cases of children between four and seven years old, served in a university extension project, which may be susceptible to be related to the intense aggression displayed by these children. In this analysis, responsibility failures of the father during the performance of his role, prior to his responsibility to intervene, placing limits on the sexual desires of the child against the parent of the opposite sex, stand out, especially regarding the creation of a stable and indestructible environment in which the child can grow, and that relate to the mother support and the support of law and order initially deployed in child's life.
